The Bavarian Grill RESTAURANT PROMISE based on THE TEXAS RESTAURANT PROMISE developed by the Texas Restaurant Association and our Texas Governor

The Bavarian Grill has an outstanding track record of protecting our employees and guests, our score with the Plano Health Department has been an A for many years. To ensure everyone’s safety as we welcome you back into our dining room and indoor Biergarten, we ask that we make the following promises to each other:
We will continue to be a leader in safe sanitation practices with all team members certified in safe food handling and a certified manager on every shift. Also, all employees are trained on appropriate cleaning and disinfection, hand hygiene, and respiratory etiquette. As we have received funding through the PPP Loan we are able and willing to have a very high level of staffing for every shift to ensure that all Sanitation Procedures can be followed consistently throughout each day.
We will follow all of the Minimum Standard Health Protocols for Restaurants adopted by the State, including:
− We have removed over half of our tables to give each remaining table a 6 feet distance to any others and to the walk ways. As we are only seating 1/4 of our usual guests you will not find the closeness that we had prior to our mandated closing. Please anticipate that these will be trying times for our team and our hungry and thirsty guests.
− Parties can and will maintain at least 6 feet distance apart from other parties at all times, including while waiting to be seated in the restaurant.
– No tables will have more than 10 guests. Please respect the blue tape, these are areas we do not want you to use at this time. Please check in with the greeter at the Restaurant door, as we will provide any service in the waiting areas in the first few days. We may offer you beverages while you are waiting outside in the near future, once we can do this safely. Our bar is used as a service bar only for guests dining, no seating will be available here yet.
− Hand sanitizing stations are available to all guests and friends and employees, including upon entry.
− We will greet you at the Restaurant door,  and our friendly host will show you how to download a link to our daily changing menu and bring you to your table. An abbreviated Children’s menu and some limited vegetarian choices will be available. Your dedicated food server will greet you with freshly washed, sanitized plates and silverware on a new paper napkin and ask which roll you prefer. We are offering you a freshly baked, classic Brötchen, the white, hard roll or a Onion Roll or the Pumpernickel Roll with our compliments. The popular Pretzel Roll will be available for 95 cents each. Your friendly waitperson will return with your rolls on a plate, water glasses and pour your water, asking you for your drink order. We will serve your drink and ask for your food order. As soon as your food has been prepared either your wait person or a dedicated food runner will bring your food at the peak of it’s freshness. Common condiments, like the spicy Düsseldorf Mustard for the Wurstteller or Ketchup for your Pommes Frites will be on your plate, if you like Salt or Pepper please let us know as we have individual packs. Drink refills will be in fresh, clean glasses, please refrain from bringing your own Steins until further notice. Dirty glasses, plates and silverware will be removed by our Food Service Attendant, who will never touch any food ready to go to a guest. Dessert was limited to Black Forest Cake and Apfel Strudel for the first few days, we have now added many guest favorites. Please pay with a Credit Card that we will sanitize and swipe for the safest possible processing, and return it to you with a souvenir pen. Please keep the pen and every time you use it be reminded that you went for a great tasting, authentic Bavarian meal and a fantastic beverage with your family during this challenging time. Your tip will be shared by all team members once PPP has expired in about early June. We are looking at this as our savings account for our future paychecks. We will thank you, wish you a safe trip home and wish all of us many happy, healthy returns. Please use the main entrance door for your EXIT!
− We will not leave condiments, silverware, flatware, glassware, or the other traditional tabletop items like the silk flowers in the flip top Bier bottles, or dessert and Bier Menus on any unoccupied table. The look of the restaurant has changed!
− We will provide condiments only upon request, and in single use, non-reusable portions.
− We will use disposable, abbreviated daily changing menus that are new for each patron, please feel free to take yours.
− All employees must pass a health screening before coming into the restaurant. They will wear masks and/or face shields during their shifts, team members who are dealing with dirty dishes will wash their hands after each clearing run, the bathroom attendants will wear disposable gloves and change them after each sanitation process has been completed.
− Employees will wash or sanitize their hands upon entering the restaurant, and between all interactions with other team members, guests and friends.
− We will clean and disinfect common areas and surfaces regularly. We will also clean and disinfect each dining area after every use.
− During dinner Alan will play his accordion, there will be no Chickendance or Masskrugstemmen for a while. We will play the birthday bells every hour for all who could not celebrate their birthday with us when we all stayed at home.
− We will post this enhanced version of the Texas Restaurant Promise at our entrances and display readily visible signage to remind everyone of best hygiene practices.
You agree to follow the Minimum Standard Health Protocols for Restaurant Guests adopted by the State by:
− Following the social distancing, the 6 foot rule, and sanitary guidelines that have been put in place to protect you and our other guests and friends and employees.
− Self-screening before entering the restaurant for any signs of COVID-19 including but not limited to a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or known close contact with someone who has COVID-19. If in doubt please stay home and visit us at a later time. We will also offer to check your temperature, if it reads over 100º F you agree with our policy that we will deny your entry to our restaurant, as this could signal a fever and endanger team members and other guest and friends.
− If you cannot enter the restaurant or are otherwise concerned about contracting COVID-19, please use our contactless carry out or TO GO options by calling your order in. One of our friendly bartenders will take your order and payment, after your food has been cooked, we will place it with your name clearly visible at the entry to the outdoor Biergarten for easy pick-up.
− If you have any questions about the Texas Restaurant Promise, please ask a manager who will be happy to assist you.
