Soon to
be gone: The Franconia Winter Weizenbock
 Our
guests seem to have liked it. Dennis
claims this dark strong winter warmer to
be one of his best brews as of yet.
 Come
on over and try it for yourself before
it's all gone. We decided that we want
to match this great Bock with our
upcoming Special Annual Saturday Butcher
Ragout Lunch on January 24th at 2pm.

The correct answer and the winner are:

traveling to Germany during the month of
December next year.
The tree is located in Dortmund. The Steeple
behind the tree is the giveaway.
Have Happy New Year."
Our Congratulations go to
Charles S. Buchtel

Gift Certificate to enjoy the
Bavarian food for

Thank you very much for all of you who
provided the correct answer, please try
again! One of our regular Quiz
participants wrote:
This one took some research and I must
admit that I nearly gave up but the tree
in the photo is in Dortmund at the
Christmas market. The tree is 45 meters
high and is made of 17,000 spruces!!!
Probably the world's tallest but there
is a lot of competition for this title.
It takes 40,000 LED lamps and 20 big
candles to light it! The weight....30
metric tons! Wow..impressive!

"BEER BREWED ACCORDING TO THE GERMAN PURITY LAW FROM
1516 IS GOOD FOR US - While red wine has long gained
media attention for its health benefits, researchers
are now finding that similar consumption patterns of
pure beer brewed with only 4 ingredients offer the
same benefits and possibly more. For example,
researchers at Oregon State University have found
that an antioxidant in hops may halt the growth of
prostate cancer. A similar study of hops in Austria
Tufts University study 3000 beer drinkers showed
that those who drink one to two beers a day have
higher bone-mineral densities than nondrinkers. In
similar study published in Austria suggested that
the antioxidants in hops may ease chronic
inflammation that is linked with cardiovascular
disease, Alzheimer's and arthritis".
